Instants d’Absolu – Europe’s Volcanic House: Rediscovering the Luxury of Being Yourself
Instants d’Absolu – Ecolodge & Spa is introducing an exclusive-use experience this winter in the heart of the Cantal region, while continuing to offer accommodation for individual guests.
In the volcanic highlands of Cantal, instants d’Absolu – Ecolodge & Spa is now available for private bookings for 4 to 12 guests. A sanctuary of silence, privacy, and reconnection with nature, where luxury stems as much from the beauty of the landscapes and the seclusion of the setting as from the highly personalized guest experience.
What if the ultimate luxury were to rediscover the time to truly live in the world?
On a secluded high plateau in the enchanted forest of La Pinatelle, instants d’Absolu – Ecolodge & Spa is turning a new page in its history this winter: that of a home-away-from-home available for exclusive use, with the discreet, personalised hospitality that defines the property where guests can enjoy a rare experience of silence, nature, and reconnection with the seasons.
For sixteen years, on the shores of Lac du Pêcher (lake), Laurence Costa and Daniel Siegel have been cultivating a different vision of hospitality. A place set apart from the noise of the world, in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park, where the landscape, the silence, and the fresh, seasonal cuisine all contribute to the art of hospitality.
Today, this intimate twelve-room ecolodge introduces a new way of experiencing the place: Europe’s Volcanic House, a rare private rental experience designed for families, groups of friends, or business leaders wishing to bring together their employees or top clients in a setting that preserves privacy. This exclusive offer enriches the spirit of the place without altering its essence: the house thus fully retains its capacity to accommodate individual bookings throughout the year.
Here, there’s no need for distractions; each stay is crafted like a made-to-measure creation. Days unfold at each guest’s own pace: contemplation, hikes through vast volcanic landscapes, locally rooted cuisine, outdoor bathing beneath the open sky, sauna, restorative sleep and the rare luxury of unhurried time. Every detail, surprise, or thoughtful touch is crafted to offer a truly unique escape… a private retreat to rediscover the luxury of simply being yourself.
“In the heart of the great outdoors, we have learned to make room for silence,
inviting the magic of life to weave its way into the fabric of our daily lives.”
WINTERING: Learning to Love Winter Again
As the first seasonal offer of this new concept, WINTERING invites you to see winter in a different light. It’s neither an escape to the sun nor a quest for snow-covered slopes. Simply, the choice to experience the season to the fullest: the frost, the night, the silence, the warmth of the Cantou fire, the pleasure of a meal rooted in the season, and the rediscovered pace of life during immersive excursions – on foot, on horseback, or by dog sled.
An experience that unfolds throughout the four seasons, each revealing a different way of living in the highlands.
From Luxury Travel to the Luxury of Travel
With Europe’s Volcanic House, the founders reaffirm a conviction that has guided them from the very beginning: true luxury is not so much about what we add to an experience, but what we are willing to leave behind. The superfluous, the constant stimulation, the demands of everyday life. What remains is perhaps the most precious luxury of all: time, space, the freedom to be fully present to ourselves and to others. And in that newfound stillness, the possibility of flourishing again, as nature does with the return of spring.
